KUALA LUMPUR: RM134,000 worth of compound notices were issued to 56 patrons and two owners of premises following raids at two entertainment outlets in Cheras.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comn Muhammad Idzam Jaafar (pic) said the compounds were issued as the culprits had failed to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).

He said the first raid was conducted on an entertainment outlet in Taman Miharja at about 10pm on Tuesday (Oct 26).

"We issued compound notices to 13 patrons and the owner of the premises. The owner was also detained for conducting a business without a valid licence," he told a press conference at Cheras police headquarters on Thursday (Oct 28).

Several items were also seized including a speaker, an amplifier and a wireless microphone, he added.

In the second operation, police raided an entertainment outlet in Jalan Loke Yew at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.

"We issued compound notices to 43 patrons and the owner of the premises. We also detained the owner for operating without a valid license," he added.

Among the seized items were 441 bottles of liquor, an amplifier and a microphone, he said.

ACP Muhammad Idzam said each patron was issued with a compound notice for RM1,500 while both owners were issued with compound notices for RM25,000 each.

"Despite the lifting of certain restrictions, entertainment outlets are still prohibited from operating.

"We hope the public and business owners can continue cooperate with the authorities in adhering to the SOP," he said.
