Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's "unique selling point" remains themselves, as royal commentator Michael Cole explained that they will have to work hard to keep themselves financially independent.
This week saw the soft launch of Meghan's first product from her new brand American Riviera Orchard, as she sent out 50 jars of strawberry jam to a select group of friends and influencers.

Speaking to GB News, Mr Cole noted that there was "nothing wrong" with the launch but pointed out that this new approach is still in connection with the Sussex deal with Netflix.
He warned the pair that "Netflix wants payback" and they'll have to "sell themselves" to make it work.
He said: "Netflix have given a $100million contract to the Sussexes, and now the Sussexes are going to have to start singing for their supper, because Netflix want payback. They don't give away all that money for nothing.

"Prince Harry is going to do this polo series and she's going to do this lifestyle series, but it won't be shot at their house or their hilltop Camelot in Montecito. It will be shot at a very nice house nearby, but not their own."
Mr Cole also made reference to The Tig, Meghan's blog which she ran successfully for three years until 2017, when she closed it down due to her relationship with Harry.
He explained that when she was a member of the Royal Family it was a "big no no" to "exploit her royal status for commercial gain" but that now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "very much in the marketplace" for big commercial deals.
The expert continued: "One of the ways they're earning their living is selling themselves, that is their unique selling point. The fact that they have royal status.

"And they're going to have to work at it, very hard, because they have a very expensive lifestyle. Security alone must cost a fortune. Three shifts a day of burly men guarding the perimeter of their house. Now, that burns through a lot of money."
When asked by host Martin Daubney if he thought the jam would catch on, Mr Cole replied: "I think it will. People will sign up for it. I hope the jam tastes nice, not too sugary. If it's good, then it will sell.
"But it really is quite a step down from the pedestal they were once on."
Meghan's new cooking show is also expected to be released on Netflix in conjunction with her new brand.

American Riviera Orchard was unveiled last month and its Instagram page already has over 500k followers, even though the website has yet to go live.
Meghan's latest TV show with the platform aims to "celebrate the joys of cooking and gardening, entertainment, and friendship", according to Netflix.
Meghan's show is being produced by Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation, the company behind Hulu's The D’Amelio Show, as reported in the Daily Mail.
