PETALING JAYA: Malaysia administered 263,012 doses of Covid-19 vaccines on Thursday (July 1), says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
He said this brings the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered in the country to 8,346,697.
Dr Adham also said 5,925,815 individuals have now received at least one dose of the vaccine, with 2,393,882 from that number being fully inoculated after completing both doses.
"Register for vaccination at MySejahtera, vaksincovid.gov.my or call 1-800-888-28 (for more information)," he added.
The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme is expected to pick up speed in the coming days, with an additional one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine donated by Japan arriving on Thursday and sent to vaccination centres in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor Baru, Penang and Sarawak.
The programme's coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Malaysia has also reduced the dosing interval for AstraZeneca to nine weeks from 12 weeks.
