Labour will “pick the pockets” of pensioners by clobbering them with a huge tax rise and putting key benefits at risk, Rishi Sunak has warned.
The Prime Minister said Sir Keir’s Starmer’s party would saddle retirees with a levy on their state pension for the first time in history.

Pensioner benefits including Winter Fuel Payments, free bus passes, free prescriptions and free TV licences could also be at risk.
Labour’s election manifesto failed to include any specific reference to them, leaving the door open to scrapping them entirely, although the party denies this.
Mr Sunak told the Express: "Labour will always pick the pockets of pensioners.

"And Labour will always put-up taxes to pay for their unfunded spending commitments. “That's why they've kept the £2094 in higher taxes they will levy on working people out of their manifesto.
"Starmer can't hide from the facts. His party is still the same old Labour."
Cabinet Office Minister Esther McVey also warned: “This is a disgraceful attack on the dignity of pensioners. This is what an unaccountable Labour supermajority would do.
“The only way to protect pensioners at this election is to vote Conservative.”
Recent figures show that more than 12.8 million people eligible for an older person’s bus pass, 11.4 million pensioners received a Winter Fuel Payment, and around 623 million prescription items were dispensed to over 60s free of charge.
A further 1.5 million people aged over 75 in receipt of Pension Credit are eligible for a free TV licence.
The Conservative Party has committed to maintaining all current pensioner benefits.

A spokesman said: “This is another desperate fabrication. We have no plans to make any changes to these benefits. Labour is committed to protecting pensioners from the Conservatives' cost of living crisis.”
But the party sparked outrage earlier this year after it emerged their new Tax Tsar said “codger” pensioners have “had it ridiculously good”.
Sir Edward Troup also previously called free TV licences for older people “ridiculous”.
Appearing at a Resolution Foundation roundtable in 2019, Sir Edward called for increases to income tax, national insurance, VAT and corporation tax.
He added that it is a “complete disgrace” that pensioners aren’t paying national insurance, adding: “We are going to have to look at more senior members of society.”
Dennis Reed, director of the over-60s campaign group Silver Voices, warned Labour they would have a “fight” on their hands if they betrayed pensioners if the win the general election.
"With the very low basic state pension, the current range of age-related benefits are vital in preventing more pensioner poverty,” he said.
“If Labour wants to raise the basic state pension to half average earnings (£340 pw) then we could have a serious conversation with them about the need for some of these benefits.
“But unless they do that we would fight tooth and nail to preserve the benefits we have. it would be extreme folly for any new Government to pick a fight with older people over their benefits, as their honeymoon period would disappear overnight".
The Express and Silver Voices has campaigned hard to protect free TV licences for the over 75s.
Mr Sunak was back on the campaign trail on Thursday, dipping a teapot in a tub of pottery glaze at Denby Pottery.
He later visited Alstom, the Derby-based train manufacturer.
During a broadcast interview Mr Sunak defended a Tory attack poster showing a picture of a man, woman and child holding their hands in the air in surrender.
The advert, which doubles down on the Prime Minister’s latest attack line, states “don’t surrender your family’s future to Labour”.
Challenged over the imagery, Mr Sunak said: “This is an incredibly important election, and there’s an important choice for people. And I don’t want people to sleepwalk into something.
“I believe that a Labour government would be very damaging for our country.
“I get that people are frustrated with me and our party, but this is not a by-election. This is a choice about our future, and that choice will have severe consequences for people’s financial security.”
Tory minister Steve Baker revealed yesterday (Thur) he will launch a bid to replace Mr Sunak as party leader should the Conservatives lose next week's general election.
The 53-year-old joined other senior Tories in jostling for position ahead of a possible leadership contest by hinting he would run for the party's top job.

But Mr Baker - who once labelled himself the 'hard man of Brexit' - faces an immediate challenge in clinging on to his Wycombe constituency on 4 July.
Kemi Badenoch is the favourite to replace Mr Sunak if he steps down.
Penny Mordaunt, Priti Patel and Tom Tugendhat could also throw their hat into the ring.
