KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd has declared a first interim dividend of 1 sen per share in respect of the financial year ending June 30, 2022.

       The dividend amounting to RM13.4mil is payable on Jan 5, 2022. The entitlement date has been fixed on Dec 17, 2021.

       In the first quarter ended Sept 30, BToto posted a net loss of RM17.66mil on revenue of RM797.57mil.

       Commenting on its prospects, BToto said the business environment is expected to recover gradually as more economic and social sectors reopen with the easing of restrictions by the respective governments of the countries where the group’s subsidiary companies operate.

       “In this regard, the directors are cautiously optimistic that the group’s businesses will gradually recover with the resilient nature of the number forecast operator (NFO) business as noted in the past economic crises and turbulent periods.

       “Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the directors are confident that the group will continue to lead in terms of market share in the NFO business for the financial year ending June 30, 2022,” BToto said.
