OSAKA -- A former high school baseball coach served with a fresh arrest warrant on suspicion of raping a student has reportedly told police he engaged in indecent acts with more than 30 students over about 10 years.
On the morning of Sept. 14, Yuki Mizuochi, a former instructor and coach for a baseball team at a private high school in the city of Osaka, was referred to prosecutors on the charge of forcible sexual intercourse resulting in injury.
Mizuochi, 31, was served with a fresh arrest warrant by the Osaka Prefectural Police on Sept. 13 for sexually assaulting a male student on the baseball team in November 2020. The student reportedly became ill after the incident and developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Mizuochi admitted to the allegation by telling police he thought his students would not tell others and that the act would not be exposed.
In August, Mizuochi was arrested on suspicion of indecency through compulsion for touching another male team member's lower body, and was later indicted.
There have been a series of reports of Mizouchi's indecent acts from students at several schools he worked at, and prefectural police are trying to unravel the overall picture under the belief he took advantage of his position as a teacher to repeat the incidents.
