PETALING JAYA: Samaiden Group Bhd’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary Samaiden Biomass Energy Sdn Bhd has received its feed-in tariff (FiT) approval certificate from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (Seda).

This approval authorises Samaiden Biomass Energy to construct and operate a biomass power plant with an installed capacity of seven megawatts (MW) in Tangkak, Johor.

The renewable-energy (RE) specialist said the plant is set to supply a net capacity of 6MW to Tenaga Nasional Bhd. The agreement is for 21 years and is scheduled to commence on Jan 22, 2027.

“This FiT approval is a testament to our team’s dedication and expertise in the RE sector. Our new biomass power plant in Johor is a key component of our strategy to enhance Malaysia’s RE capacity.

“This project not only signifies our growth but also our contribution to the nation’s commitment to a sustainable-energy future,” group managing director Chow Pui Hee said.
