Residents speculated that an angry parent had targeted the shop, with one writing on Facebook: “Good on the dad who did this selling a vape to a 14 year old takes the p*ss this is another reason they are on about banning them.”
Staff at the shop in Retford, Bassetlaw, insisted they did not sell vapes to children.
A manager, who asked not be named, insisted they request identification from customers.

They told the Sun on Sunday: “If someone had a problem they could just speak to us instead of spending money to put a sign next to our name.
"It was really shocking to see that. We do ask for ID.”

New powers will also be introduced to restrict flavours marketed at children and ensure that manufacturers produce plainer packaging.
