JOHOR BARU: Police have detected several contact numbers used by scammers pretending to be Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

       In a statement on Wednesday (Aug 25), Comm Ayob said the contact numbers in question were 016-4818565 and 010-8368223.

       "Recently, the police have detected some phone numbers that were used to carry out fraud where they pretended to be none other than the state police chief.

       "The public is reminded not to easily fall for the tricks of those pretending to be the police chief," he said.

       Comm Ayob also urged those who come across such cases to immediately alert the authorities.

       "Those who detected similar cases are urged to make a report at the nearest police station, or the Johor control centre at 07-2254047, or contact the special officer to the Johor police chief at 013-9058124," he said.
