One person was fatally shot and another injured near an Exxon station in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, police said Friday.

       Authorities said there was heavy police activity in the 2300 block of Richmond Highway.

       Details about the victims or suspect were not immediately available.

       “There is believed to be no threat to the public in connection with this incident,” according to a brief news release from the Alexandria Police Department.
