TABLE OF CONTENT What time do polling stations open and close? I've registered to vote, now what? What sort of ID do I need to bring?
The crunch-time to vote is merely hours away - but many people will be needing to vote outside of the usual peak hours. It's the first General Election since 2019 and like with every new national poll, a new crop of voters are eligible to have their say.
Some 67.3% of people who were registered to vote in the 2019 general election cast a ballot, down by 1.5 percentage points from 68.8% in 2017.

And with more than 2 million people registering to vote since the election was called in May, many of those hoping to cast their ballots will be first time voters.
So for those that are new to voting or for those that need a reminder of the process, Express.co.uk has broken down the key information ahead of polling day.
Don't miss... Warning to anyone who missed postal vote deadline with 'second chance'
What time do polling stations open and close?
Polling stations will open bright and early and close late, to give as many people the chance to vote as possible. Doors open at 7am and will remain open all day until 10pm. This applies to all polling stations up and down the country.

This means people in 9am to 5pm jobs will have the option to vote either first thing in the morning, or last thing at night. And the same goes for shift workers.
I've registered to vote, now what?
You need to have registered and that deadline has now passed. However, for those that have registered you should have received a polling card.
However, if you forget to bring it with you to your polling station, don't worry - you don't actually need it to vote.
What you must remember in order to cast your ballot, is your photo ID. That means your passport, driving licence or a similar document, like a Blue Badge.
Once the election officials have confirmed your identity, they will give you a ballot paper and you will be directed to a booth.
Take your ballot paper there and read it carefully as it explains at the top how to fill in the ballot by putting a cross against the candidate you wish to vote for.
If you make a mistake or put a cross in the wrong box, you can hand the ballot back and ask for another one.
