The comedy, starring a bumbling Rowan Atkinson in the title role, was only beaten by Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian as the programme most preferred by pooches in a new study.
Researchers also found that hi-tech 4K TVs, which have a higher pixel count producing a sharper picture, were better at holding the pets’ attention.
Apart from Mr Bean, dogs -generally pre-ferred dramas to -comedies -and remained calmer while watching them.
So much for those nail-biting cliffhanger endings?.?.?.
Their next favourite shows were Stranger Things, The Pink Panther and Friends, while sitcoms Frasier, Cheers, The Big Bang Theory and Malcolm In The Middle were a big turn-off as the least-liked shows.
The research was carried out by fitting four dogs with heart monitors and then playing them eight classic TV programmes.

Researchers believe the hectic pace and the canned laughter of the comedies left the dogs agitated and irritated rather than amused.
The study, carried out by Wren Kitchens, suggests it is a good idea to leave pets’ favourite TV shows playing for them while their owners are away from home.
Leading dog behaviourist Cesar Milan said: “Dogs love to watch things. That’s how they learn.
“When the dog went inside with the human, the window became his first TV.
“Humans now spend a lot of time getting information and entertainment from TV.
"That’s how the dog finds out that that is the way of entertainment.”
