JOHOR BARU: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia has ordered the relevant party responsible for building the combat training pool at Kem Iskandar in Mersing to clarify the reason for the construction delay.

According to a post on His Majesty’s official Facebook page, the King said the pool was supposed to be fully completed in December 2022, but until now, it was still under construction.

"I was told the relevant party had requested for extension six times," said His Majesty.

"On Monday (April 15), I found the project sign board at the construction site was demolished," said Sultan Ibrahim.

"The Johor Public Works Department and the Mersing District engineers have to explain to me why the signboard was pulled down," the King told the Royal Press Office on Monday.

His Majesty also ordered the project sign board to be reinstalled again at the construction site.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was performed by Sultan Ibrahim in May 2018.

       Embracing new opportunities

The camp’s combat training pool was a facility that was greatly needed by members of 21 GGK (21st Special Service Group) to improve individual and team competence, especially in dealing with threats from the maritime domain.

This facility was also equipped with various facilities such as ship mock-ups, entry points for entry by air and many other operational support facilities.
