THE King of Mandopop Jay Chou (pic) was revealed to be a bit of a geek after an Internet user posted an online interaction with the superstar on social media, reported China Press.

The Internet user, a self-proclaimed diehard fan of Chou for 20 years, wrote on Jan 20 that he got to know the singer personally through the multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends in 2017.

The singer, he claimed, often invited friends to form two teams of five to play against each other.

“We would play through the night every day,” the fan wrote, while posting a screenshot of one of their gaming sessions.

The fan also wrote that Chou sent him three additional VIP tickets after finding out that he had bought tickets to one of his concerts in 2017.

“How did I know if it was him for sure? It was because apart from sending me concert tickets, we later played basketball together.

“This is a memory I will never forget my whole life,” he wrote.

       > The business of saving marriages in China is so lucrative that shops have begun offering “getting mistresses to back off” services, reported Oriental Daily.

One such shop is located in the Jilin province, going by the name of Getting Third Party To Back Off – Heal Your Marriage.

The shop owner said he helps married couples get the third party in their relationship to give up, and also helps divorcees get back together.

Set up in October 2021, the shop collects a minimum fee of 20,000 yuan (RM13,208) for its services, and to guarantee results, clients can choose to pay 46,000 yuan (RM30,380) or be refunded if the shop disappoints.

When photos of the shop went viral online, many Internet users were surprised that such a service could be turned into a profitable business.

However, many also pointed out that it was pointless to save a marriage where one party has cheated.

It was earlier reported that China’s divorce rate had been rising steadily, with 1.05 million divorces recorded between October and December 2020.

       > A man in China is expected to reach his hometown in Chongqing in time to celebrate Chinese New Year after travelling on horseback for the last six months, covering more than 4,400km on his journey so far, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Le Xiaoyun, 29, started riding southwest from Xinjiang region in July 2021 and has passed through Gansu and Sichuan provinces.

He has only 200km more to ride before he reaches home.

When interviewed, Le said he started on his journey to toughen up and to get rid of bad habits.

It was earlier reported that Le had considered walking or riding a motorbike, but a leg injury prevented him from taking either option.

He settled for horseback riding after a friend helped him get a horse, which he named Huo Guo (Hotpot), in June 2021.
