PRE-SCHOOLERS from SJK (T) Permas Jaya in Masai, Johor won a gold medal and a special award in an international environmental innovation competition, Makkal Osai reported.
The 2021 online edition of the Global Olimpiad Green Innovation Fair (GO-GIF21) saw participation from 335 teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, Canada, United States and other countries.
The six pre-schoolers struck gold and received the Best of the Best award for their Cocos Peat Pot innovation.
The school also presented innovations such as Egg & Tray Roller Cooler Box, Cocos Food Carry and My Fancy Recycle developed by 18 pupils in the nine- to 12-year-old division. These three teams won gold medals, too.
Headmistress R. Vijayaletchumi said the school is one of the schools under the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 which actively encourages innovative thinking from a young age.
