PUTRAJAYA: Police have nabbed 438 individuals for various standard operating procedure (SOP) violations.
The offences include cross-border travel without permission/eating at premises, no social distancing, failure to register when entering premises, failure to abide by movement control order and premises which did not follow SOP.
Of those arrested on Sunday (July 25), 434 individuals were slapped with compound notices while four were remanded.
The task force monitoring SOP compliance had checked 78,604 premises involving 17,966 personnel on Sunday, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
“On Ops Benteng, enforcement authorities arrested five illegal immigrants and seized five land vehicles,” he said on Monday (July 26).
Ismail Sabri said that 672 individuals had returned to Malaysia on Sunday and all were sent to observe mandatory quarantine at government-designated stations.
Since July 24 last year, a total of 256,526 individuals had returned and were sent for quarantine at 83 hotels and 11 training institutes nationwide.
A total of 156 disinfection exercises were carried out nationwide on July 25 at 59 red zones, two amber and four yellow zones, as well as two green zones.
Ismail Sabri said the operation involved 707 firemen and 257 local council personnel.
Cumulatively, 34,087 of such operations had been carried out since March last year including at business premises, housing areas, public spaces, supermarkets and government buildings.
