GEORGE TOWN: Penang MCA has donated five oxygen concentrators, 600 sets of personal protection equipment (PPE), and four boxes of gloves to the Kepala Batas Hospital.
The equipment worth RM30,000 was handed over to the hospital by state MCA chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng (pic) who visited the hospital recently.
"Kepala Batas Hospital is a Covid-19 hospital and with the spike in cases, the hospital urgently needs the equipment," said Tan.
Tan, who is Penang Port Commission (PPC) chairman, also said he handed over 20 oxygen concentrators to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital last week.
"The five concentrators for Kepala Batas Hospital were two from PPC, two from Penang Port Sdn Bhd and one from a donor.
"The Covid-19 situation is worsening by the day and the state should take necessary precautions to curb the spread of virus and reduce workplace clusters.”
Tan said people should reduce going to crowded places, especially those who have not received their vaccinations.
