DHAKA, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's per capita income would reach nearly 3,000 U.S. dollars in the fiscal year 2021-22 (July 2021-June 2022), according to a provisional estimate by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

       "Per capita income in 2021-2022 fiscal year rose to 2,824 U.S. dollars. The figure stood at 2,591 dollars in the 2020-2021 fiscal year (July 2020-June 2021)," Bangladeshi Planning Minister M. A. Mannan quoted the data at a press conference on Tuesday.

       Meanwhile, Bangladesh's economic output would edge up 7.25 percent in the 2021-22 fiscal year, compared with 6.94 percent in the previous year, the minister added.

       According to BBS's provisional estimate, the country's gross domestic product would increase to 465 billion dollars in the 2021-22 fiscal year from 416 billion dollars in the previous year.
