Sir Keir Starmer has suffered a huge new blow after a shocking new poll revealed how popular he really is. The poll, published by Ipos Mori, shows the Labour leader has a net score of -19.
It comes just under a week before the UK heads to the polls on July 4 when it will elect a new Prime Minister. Ahead of the vote, the main parties have been setting out their stalls in a bid to try to win over and bolster support among the British public.

Polls over the past few months have suggested that Labour could win with a massive majority nearly five years after the Tories won a huge majority in the 2019 general election.
However, a new poll by Ipsos Mori has suggested that if Sir Keir Starmer becomes the next Prime Minister, his low score means he could be the least popular leader of the opposition to become PM.

The results suggest that his net score of -19 is worse than either Margaret Thatcher, David Cameron or Tony Blair when they entered office.
Furthermore, the results show that whilst 33 percent of people are satisfied with the job the Labour leader is doing, around 52 percent are not. His low popularity scores come amid a frantic build-up to the vote on July 4.
As voting day moves closer, each poll becomes more crucial and a recent survey of 20,000 voters by Find Out Now and Electoral Calculus has suggested that the Conservative Party could be left with just 60 seats after all the votes have been counted.
In contrast, the poll has suggested that Labour could win 450 seats and have a majority of 250, leaving the Liberal Democrats to come in second with 71 seats.

What’s more, poll suggested that Reform UK could win up to 18 MPs next week and come fourth just behind the Conservative Party who could suffer a series of Cabinet casualties.
These include Jeremy Hunt, Kemi Badenoch, Penny Mordaunt, Oliver Dowden, Grant Shapps, Michelle Donelan, Claire Coutinho, Mel Stride, Esther McVey, and Victoria Atkins.
Following the results of the survey, Electoral Calculus’ Martin Baxter said: “The Conservatives are predicted to be in third place in terms of both votes and seats.

"That would be a disaster for them. Labour looks set for a massive landslide, but with about one million fewer votes than Jeremy Corbyn got in 2017.”
If the results of the poll are reflected in the result next week, Sir Kier Starmer would come home with a majority larger than Tony Blair’s in 1997.
