PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang's second press conference in a week on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki's shares controversy was a brief 15-minute affair.

The Anti-Corruption Advisory Board chairman read from a prepared text to address related issues, and he did not take any questions from the press.

"Today I'm here to deliver a statement to the media and I hope the press can report it in full so that there will not be any more misunderstanding among the public on the issue.

"The full statement will be handed out I believe that there is no need for me to take any questions," said Abu Zahar, at the start of his press conference.

He lamented that his press conference on Jan 5 was not fully reported by some media, so much so that it has contributed to the "wrong perception" among the public.

"Aside from issues besides involving MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, there were other things that the advisory board had given its views, but this was not touched by the media.

"Instead, a video of my press conference that went viral only portrayed a small section of my statement that day," he said.

Abu Zahar also expressed in his press conference that he will leave it to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to decide on his position as chairman.

He also expressed his dismay towards the six board members who distanced themselves from his earlier statement.
