KUALA LUMPUR: Forty-six suspected drug users and pushers were arrested during a special anti drug operation in Ampang Jaya.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said that the suspects were caught under Ops Tapis Khas, aimed at dismantling drug distribution and usage.
"The raids from Jan 21 till 23 led to the seizure of around RM68,852 in drugs, which included 1.95kg of syabu.
"The police welcome the sharing of information by the public.
"Those with information can contact the Ampang Jaya police headquarters directly at 03 4289 7222," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 25).
Earlier on Tuesday, Federal Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Comm Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay told a press conference at Bukit Aman that 5,200 suspects were arrested nationwide during Ops Tapis Khas.
Those arrested included repeat offenders and drug pushers.
