KUWAIT CITY, March 19: In response to inclement weather conditions, the Ministry of Interior’s Traffic and Operations Sector swiftly mobilized its resources to ensure public safety. Major Abdullah Bu Al-Hassan, spokesperson for the Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department within the General Traffic Department, highlighted the coordinated efforts of various departments under the Ministry’s umbrella, reports Al-Jarida daily. Under the guidance of Major General Yousef Al-Khadda, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs, the sector was placed on high alert upon receiving forecasts of rain from meteorologists. Bu Al-Hassan emphasized that proactive measures were taken, with patrols from the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Directorate of Rescue Police deployed promptly as the rain began.

The vigilance of these patrols proved crucial as they swiftly responded to reports of traffic disruptions, including minor accidents and congestion on roads. Notably, engineers and technicians from the Traffic Engineering Department were able to rapidly address and clear four intersections affected by the rain. Bu Al-Hassan reported that the combined efforts of traffic and rescue patrols successfully managed 17 minor traffic accidents, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic at accident sites.

Additionally, collaboration with the General Fire Force facilitated the clearance of an obstruction caused by fallen trees in the Jabriya area. It is reassuring to note that despite these incidents, there were no significant injuries or damages reported. The Ministry of Interior remains committed to maintaining public safety and will continue to monitor and respond to any challenges posed by adverse weather conditions.
