A COUPLE started a Facebook page on their autistic son to increase awareness of such children.

According to Utusan Malaysia, Iman Wan Tuck Meng, 54, and wife Norhaidda Hassan, 48, share videos of their 19-year old son Adam who falls within the autism spectrum.

The aim of the page is to create more online discussions about autism, especially among parents.

The Facebook page named Adam’s Autism Family was started by Iman in 2017 and has now garnered 655,345 followers while its Instagram account has reached 377,000 followers.

The couple would upload videos of Adam’s daily routines and those of him throwing tantrums so that they could educate the public on handling such situations.

Adam was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of two and a half years old.

He received his education at the Autism Special School when he was between five and 10 years old. After that, he was fully educated by his parents at home.

“Patience is the key that parents must have.

“Always remember that children are a gift from God,” he said.

       > Actor and host Zoey Rahman, 36, was shocked to discover that a 50kg python was found at his family’s residence in Terengganu.

He said the reptile was found at the ceiling of a toilet in the family home and was believed to have been there for two weeks before his father realised it was there, Harian Metro reported.

“Fortunately, the toilet is rarely used by my family members. It’s just that on Saturday, my father went into the toilet to pick up items and found too much dust on the floor even though the rest of the area was clean.

“My father became suspicious and called my uncle who lived nearby to check the toilet ceiling. When the area was lit with a lamp, he saw a python coiled there,” he said.

Zoey’s father called the Civil Defence Force (APM) to capture the snake.

The snake was believed to have entered the house from the bush in the backyard as the house is near a river and an orchard.

Zoey thanked the APM for the prompt and immediate action taken.
