TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Chrono Genesis, winner of four Grade 1 titles, will retire after contesting next month's Arima Kinen, her owners said Friday.
The five-year-old mare will bid to become the first horse to sweep Japan's two annual "all-star" races, the Takarazuka Kinen and Arima Kinen, in consecutive years.
She won her second straight Takarazuka Kinen in June and will defend her Arima Kinen crown with Christophe Lemaire aboard on Dec. 26 at Chiba Prefecture's Nakayama Racecourse.
Chrono Genesis is being prepared at her stable in Shiga Prefecture after running seventh in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in Paris last month.
