PETALING JAYA: Former Melaka chief minister Adly Zahari has been appointed as Parti Amanah Negara's vice president.
He will be replacing Datuk Husam Musa who quit his post in September last year to focus his attention on helping the party to make inroads in Kelantan.
Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, who is popularly known as Mat Sabu, said that Adly's appointment was in line with the aspiration of the party to allow more new leaders to helm the party leadership and the nation in the future.
"We believe this appointment will strengthen Amanah’s image as a party that brings the message of rahmatan lil aalamin (compassionate Islam) among the society,” said Mohamad Sabu in a statement late Sunday (Sept 5) night.
He said that Adly’s previous position as the party treasurer would be filled by Selangor Amanah chairperson Izham Hashim.
