Today (Friday): Partly to mostly sunny skies and mild air arriving helps boost temperatures into the mid- to upper 50s. The light breezes that are most noticeable during the afternoon hours (perhaps one gust near 15 mph) are transporting warmer air from the south and southeast. Confidence: High

Tonight: Breezes calm down a good amount, and that could allow a few patches of fog to develop in the early morning hours. Skies are mainly clear otherwise, until a few waves of clouds try to move in near sunrise. Temperatures bottom out within a few degrees of 35. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Saturday): Any early patches of fog try to burn off by midmorning. Skies are partly sunny with a stray shower possible, mainly in the afternoon. Any raindrops would be very brief and light. High temperatures should again benefit from light but steady breezes from the mild, southerly direction — topping out in the mid- to upper 50s. If clouds dominate more than expected, we may end up a couple of degrees cooler. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Occasional shower chances begin as early as midnight, after a tranquil and partly cloudy evening when temperatures may briefly dip into the 40s. Temperatures may slowly rise into the 50s as southerly breezes potentially gust near 20 mph by dawn — when it also might feel a tad humid. Confidence: Medium
Sunday: Rain arrival timing may be tweaked as we get closer, but chances do rise with time. Even if we see some early peeks of sunshine, showers are possible most anytime ahead of afternoon light — and eventually steadier — rain arriving. Downpours and thunder, if any, may hold off until late day. Humidity also rises along with temperatures, which top out in the mid-60s or so. Breezes from the south could gust near 30 mph a few times. In the wettest spots, we could see an inch of rain by evening. Confidence: Medium
A look ahead
Sunday night: Evening heavy rain is possible with some wind gusts around 30 mph and perhaps a rumble of thunder as the front passes through. Minor flooding can’t be ruled out, nor can a rumble and a thunderstorm. Rain should taper into showers as sunrise approaches, with many of us seeing at least an inch of rain during the night. Temperatures may fall roughly 25 degrees from early evening 60s to pre-dawn mid-30s to around 40 degrees. Confidence: Medium

Any early Monday showers should taper quickly as skies clear, and winds whip higher. Winds from the northwest could gust around 35 mph at times. Stay tuned for tweaks to these details as we get closer. Skies should clear very quickly behind any stray showers, making the day mostly sunny overall. Midday high temperatures look like low to mid-40s, but wind chills could average nearly 10 degrees chillier. Confidence: Medium
Calmer and perhaps even brighter skies on Tuesday should get temperatures to within a few degrees of the mid-40s. The day looks dry and pleasant but perhaps still a bit chilly for December. Wind chills may be less noticeable if light breezes from the southwest behave themselves as expected. Confidence: Medium
