KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Idrus Harun has been reappointed as the Attorney General for another year effective March 6.
In a statement, the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said the reappointment was in line with Article 145 (1) of the Federal Constitution and that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has consented to the reappointment.
Idrus was appointed the Attorney General on March 6, 2020, for a two-year period to succeed Tan Sri Tommy Thomas, who resigned on Feb 28, 2020.
The 67-year-old was a Federal Court judge prior to his appointment as the AG.
