MELAKA: Flood waters have started to recede in several areas following favourable weather here.

       However, the Civil Defence Force reported that there are still 1,344 people from 350 families staying at flood relief centres in the Melaka Tengah district as at noon yesterday.

       SK Taman Merdeka has 212 evacuees, mostly those from Taman Merdeka Jaya, followed by Alor Gajah (938) and Jasin (247).

       Kesidang assemblyman Allex Seah Shoo Chin said that the situation at Taman Merdeka Jaya had returned to normal yesterday.
