Andrew Bowie MP called out the SNP for their lack of action on getting assistance and help to those who have been affected by Storm Arwen. More than a thousand people in Scotland have been without power for over four days due to the disruption of the storm. Energy Supplier Northern Powergrid had announced that they had managed to reconnect 95 percent of customers but that 16,000 households were still to be reconnected. Mr Bowie pushed for the debate in Parliament as he criticised the SNP's lack of support for Scots at this time.

Calling out SNP hecklers in Parliament Mr Bowie said: "I am actually quite angry that whilst constituents of mine, the SNP might heckle and make light of the fact that Scots are freezing in their homes and have no access to services at this time"

Amidst cheers of support in parliament, you could hear another MP calling out; "Shame on you" in supporting Bowie's statements.

Mr Bowie continued to address MPs: "But I am quite angry we are here debating this when people in many places in West Aberdeenshire are dealing with a catastrophe and a crisis.

"And it was not out with the realms of possibility for the right honourable member the member for Rothschild to table a motion today."

"Maybe we could have debated how the Scottish and the UK governments might work together to support all those across the United Kingdom that have been affected by Storm Arwen."

Mr Bowie referred to Nicola Sturgeon and said: "But we're not we are here debating this, indeed actually as of earlier this afternoon the first Minister of Scotland."

"Scotlands most prolific social media activist it would seem has yet to post any comment."

Bowie began responding to other MPs who heckled him during the debate, he said in response to MPs who disagreed with him saying that the First Minister had not addressed the crisis.
