PETALING JAYA: A strong crowd of 3,000 Johoreans attended a reception graced by Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar despite heavy rain, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

       The MCA president said the afternoon tea event was held at Kluang Lake Park on Thursday (Dec 14).

       “His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan and Sovereign Ruler of Johor Darul Ta’zim, today graciously attended a Reception with the people of Batu Pahat and Kluang held at Kluang Lake Park this evening,” said Dr Wee.

       He added that as the Ayer Hitam MP, he attended this Reception to welcome His Majesty.

       “Throughout the ceremony, heavy rain poured down but it did not stop 3,000 of His Majesty’s subjects from Kluang and Batu Pahat from attending this reception to show their unwavering loyalty to His Majesty Sultan of Johor,” Dr Wee wrote in a post on Facebook on Thursday.

       Also present were Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Speaker of the Johor State Assembly Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi and his deputy Datuk Samsolbari Jamali.

       Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani and state Exco members such as the Exco for Health and Unity Ling Tian Soon as well as Exco for Investment, Trade, and Consumer Affairs Lee Ting Han were also in attendance.
