Although Ms Sturgeon said she did not want to cancel Christmas and will not limit gatherings on Christmas day people are being advised to limit their socialising to no more than three households, before and after Christmas Day. However, this will not be law and will only be guidance. There will also be a reintroduction to social distancing in hospitality venues. This has caused fury for Scots, with Bella Wallersteiner tweeting: "Sturgeon is reintroducing Covid restrictions with a return to social distancing in retail and hospitality. Cases in Scotland have plateaued week-on-week and deaths today were half of what they were last week. Yet Sturgeon has effectively cancelled Christmas for hospitality. Shame"
