PUTRAJAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s Putrajaya chief Datuk Seri Erwan Mohd Tahir along with 120 division members have left the party and rejoined Umno.

Erwan said he was confident that only Umno could defend and uphold the rights of the Malays and the Malay Rulers.

“This is the right time for me to return to Umno’s fold.

“The party has managed to end political polemics that have threatened the well-being of the people and economic stability during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he was quoted as saying yesterday.

Erwan also expressed support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Prime Minister.

“I hope the Prime Minister will shoulder his responsibilities to the best of his ability for the well-being of the people and the country,” he said after submitting his membership application to Putrajaya Umno chief Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor at Umno headquarters in Menara Dato Onn.

Several members of Putrajaya Bersatu’s leadership also submitted their applications to join Umno.

Erwan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Umno for accepting their applications to rejoin the party.
