JOHOR BARU: Former Johor Lama assemblyman Rosleli Jahari has left Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and says he intends to rejoin Umno.

He said this in a short video posted on former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s Facebook page on Sunday (March 6).

In the video, the one-term assemblyman is seated next to the former prime minister.

“I announce that I have left Bersatu after losing confidence towards the party’s president and its administration.

“I will be requesting to rejoin Umno and assist Barisan Nasional candidates in the Johor election, in particular the Johor Lama seat,” he said.

Rosleli is one of three former Umno assemblymen who won seats under a Barisan ticket in the last general election before joining Bersatu.

The other two are former Sedili assemblyman Rasman Ithnain, who was recently embroiled in a sexual harassment allegation and Endau assemblyman Alwiyah Talib.

Both Rosleli and Rasman have been dropped by Perikatan Nasional from defending their seats while Alwiyah will defend her seat in the Johor election.

Bersatu’s preparation for the polls has been rocked by resignations of party leaders at both state and division levels such as former state Bersatu chairman Mazlan Bujang and former state exco member Datuk Mohd Izhar Ahmad.
