JOHOR BARU: The Immigration Department will continue looking for the best formula to address the traffic issues at the two land checkpoints with Singapore.

       Johor Immigration director Baharuddin Tahir said he had instructed his team to come up with solutions following an audience with Regent of Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim on Tuesday (March 26).

       "The Regent is concerned about the situation at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (KSAB) as the two land checkpoints are dubbed the busiest in the world.

       "He wants us to improve the system and facilities related to the Causeway and Second Link as both checkpoints also contribute to the nation’s economy," he told a press conference here on Wednesday (March 27) when asked to comment about the meeting with the Regent.

       According to a post on Tunku Ismail’s Facebook page, various issues involving the relevant departments were presented and discussed by the audience, led by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

       Baharuddin was also present at the meeting, along with other top officials from BSI and KSAB.
