SEREMBAN: All public and recreational parks under the purview of the Seremban City Council (MBS) will reopen on Wednesday (Aug 11).

MBS said members of the public will, however, only be allowed to carry out certain activities in open spaces such as light exercises, jogging, cycling and individual games.

These facilities had been closed due to a surge in Covid-19 cases.

"The public should also observe physical distancing of two to three metres at all times when in these areas," it said in a Facebook post.

The parks that will reopen include the Seremban Lake Gardens, Jalan Keliling, Taman Malaysia, Bicycle Square, Orchid Square, S2 Park Seremban 2, S2 Hill Park S2 Heights, Forest Height Park, Nilai Square, Sendayan Green Park, Rantau Square and Tasik Ujana in Nilai Impian.

Other neighbourhood and recreational areas are Taman Tasik Jaya, Nilai Square, Rasah Kemayan, Pinggiran Senawang, Taman Tuanku Ja’afar, Taman Bandar Senawang, Knowledge Square Recreational Lake and Bakawali Square Recreational Park (both in Kota Seriemas) and the Enstek Recreational Lake.

As of Tuesday (Aug 10), 80,556 Covid-19 cases have been reported in Negri Sembilan since the start of the pandemic, resulting in 824 deaths.

A total of 8,031 people are still undergoing treatment at various health facilities in the state.
