The UK Government's top medical advisor Chris Whitty has slapped down Ms Minaj for pedaling dangerous "myths" over the coronavirus vaccine after the US star suggested the jab could lead to impotence. Ms Minaj posted a series of anti-vax messages on social media including one claiming her cousin's friend had become impotent after getting the Covid vaccine. Impotence is not an acknowledged side effect of the vaccine and Mr Whitty slammed the notion as "clearly ridiculous."

Mr Whitty told the Covid briefing: "There are a number of myths that fly around.

"Some of which are clearly ridiculous, and some of which are clearly designed to just to scare.

"That happens to be one of them.

"That is untrue," stressed the health expert.

Ms Minaj later took to social media, putting on a mocking English accent as she responded to the press conference.

"Hello, Prime Minister Boris it is Niki Minaj," she said.

"I was just calling to tell you I thought you were soo amazing on the news this morning, and I am actually British."

"I was born there, I went to university there, I went to Oxford, I went to school with Margaret Thatcher," joked the rapper.

It comes after Boris Johnson claimed to "not be familiar" with Nick Minaj's when pressed on the rapper's anti-vax statements.

The Prime Minister told the Downing Street conference: "I am not familiar or not as familiar with Niki Minaj as I probably should be.

"But I am familiar with Nikki Kanani, a superstar GP of Bexley who has appeared many times before you, who will tell you vaccines are wonderful and everybody should get them.

"That's why I prefer to listen to Nikki Kanani."

The chart-topping rapper also told fans on Twitter she was not yet jabbed and was still researching vaccines but encouraged people to take precautions against the virus.

"They want you to get vaccinated for the Met," she wrote ahead of the Met Gala fashion show.

"If I get vaccinated it won't for the Met.

"It'll be once I feel I've done enough research."
