Nigel Farage issued a stern response to Elon Musk after he called for a change in Reform UK’s leadership.
Taking to his social media platform X last weekend, the billionaire claimed Mr Farage “doesn’t have what it takes”. Responding to this, the Clacton MP stood firm in his beliefs, saying: “I can’t be pushed around.”

Speaking ahead of his appearance at the Reform UK South East England Conference, Mr Farage told the Daily Express: “People don’t always agree on everything. Maybe I didn’t say the things he wanted me to say, but you know, I’m not malleable, I can’t be pushed around. I stand for what I believe in.”
This follows the tech tycoon’s shocking post on Sunday, which read: “The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.”

The statement by the Tesla boss came as a surprise to many, after the Reform UK leader and Mr Musk met last month at the US President-Elect’s Mar-a-lago estate. Rumours then swirled that the billionaire was poised to donate as much as $100million (￡79million) to the party.

However, the post followed Mr Farage distancing his party from Tommy Robinson, the jailed far-right activist. He said: “My view remains that Tommy Robinson is not right for Reform and I never sell out my principles.” In early January, Mr Musk had taken to his social media platform to call for his release.
The Chairman of Reform UK, Zia Yusuf, has come out in support of Mr Farage, saying “all relationships go up and down” as he firmly challenged the billionaire's statement saying: “I couldn’t disagree more with that assessment.”
Mr Yusuf told the Express: “I have enormous respect for him. I look to learn from him anytime I could as an entrepreneur, but I respectfully, extremely, firmly disagree with that assessment.
