PUTRAJAYA - Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ), which is a department of the country’s Ministry of Transport, has issued a recall notice for 3,722 vehicles, comprising select models of the Perodua Alza, Aruz, and the Honda CB350RS, due to critical safety and compliance concerns.
In a statement on Nov 3, JPJ announced that the recall applies to 2024 models, specifically involving 2,518 units of Perodua Alza, 1,139 units of Perodua Aruz, and 65 units of the Honda CB350RS motorcycle.
According to JPJ, inspections revealed that certain models did not meet regulatory standards, and two specific issues were identified.
“For the Perodua Alza models 1500 X (CVT), 1500 H (CVT), and 1500 AV (CVT), the headlight alignment is reportedly not within the specified height regulations.
“The Perodua Aruz models 1500 X and 1500 AV are affected by the same issue.
“For Honda’s CB350RS motorcycles, a fault in the speed sensor could cause critical errors in the anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control and speedometer readings,” the JPJ said in a statement.
JPJ also stated that vehicle owners affected by this recall will be contacted directly by Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd for inspection arrangements.
