SUBANG JAYA: Two children were injured in an accident after a lorry ploughed into cars blocked by roadworks on the Elite Highway.
Selangor Traffic Police Enforcement and Investigation Department deputy chief Dept Supt Ahmad Izuddin Mohd Juhari said that the 10-car pile-up occurred at 11.44pm on Thursday (May 12) after a lorry heading towards Tampin had brake issues.
"The lorry then crashed into the cars that were in the middle and right lane. The cars were not moving due to some roadworks being conducted at the front.
"Two children, aged five and 10, were stuck in their respective vehicles but were rescued with the assistance of the Fire and Rescue department.
"Both suffered injuries, one at the head area and the other at the thigh," he said when contacted.
DSP Ahmad said that as of now no arrest have been made and the lorry driver is cooperating with the police in their investigations.
