The Queen was all smiles as she arrived in Manchester this morning, as royal fans filmed the monarch at the city's Victoria train station. Her Majesty was beaming as she left the train station to visit the set of Coronation Street. A video posted around noon today showed one royal fan telling the Queen "it is coming home" in reference to England's semi-final Euro 2020 win over Denmark last night.

The person filming the exchange could also be heard telling the Queen: "You okay? Coming home, Lizzy!"

In the video, the Queen responds with a beaming smile.

The Twitter user, Samo, captioned the video: "God save our queen. It’s coming home."

Another video from the encounter read: "The pleasure, the privilege was mine. Loved the smile."

The Queen's visit to Manchester saw Her Majesty go on a tour of the ITV drama's studios, including a stop off at the set of Coronation Street.

The tour, which included Corrie's famous Rovers Return pub, marked the soap's diamond jubilee.

The monarch celebrated her own 60 year anniversary on the throne in 2012.

Later on, the Queen walked down Weatherfield's famous cobbled streets, meeting cast and crew members.

The Queen is reportedly a long-time fan of the soap.

Upon arrival at the ITV studios, Her Majesty was greeted by Corrie stars William Roache, Barbara Knox, Sue Nicholls and Helen Worth.

The Queen, who asked how they had managed to keep filming during the pandemic, said: "It's really marvellous you've been able to carry on."

Mr Roache responded: "Well, ma'am, you're the one who has carried on."

He told the Queen that he first saw her when she visited Jamaica in 1953, when he was serving as an officer with the Royal Welch Fusiliers.

The monarch last visited the fictional town of Weatherfield in 1982, when she was joined on her trip by her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The visit also saw the Queen meet community groups at Manchester Cathedral.

At the cathedral, the Queen was treated to a medley of her favourite hits performed by the Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus.
