The hilarious clip, which has over 98,000 views online, shows her son burst through the door to show his mum his discovery.
He gasps as he realises she is on a video call - but it doesn't deter him from quickly waving his find to a larger audience.
The embarrassed politician then wrestles with her grinning son to put the oddly-shaped carrot down and leave the room.
The minister later took to Twitter to recount the funny incident saying: "That moment when you’re doing a LIVE interview via Zoom & your son walks into the room shouting & holding a deformed carrot shaped like a male body part.
"Yes, we were almost wrestling over a carrot on camera, and yes, I’m laughing about it now but wasn’t at the time!"
She then added to the tweet saying: "A big up’s to all our parents working from home and parenting at the same time — I see you!
"*Note to self: I will never buy the odd shaped carrot pack again."
Ms Sepuloni isn't the first high-profile figure to be interrupted by their children while trying to work from home.

In 2017, Professor Robert Kelly more famously went viral when his children interrupted his TV interview with comical timing as he was discussing South Korean politics.
His appearance on BBC News via a video call became an instant sensation when his daughter, four then, strolled into the shot soon followed by her sister in a baby walker.
Seconds later, the children's mum comes bounding into the room and drags both children out backwards.
