BUTTERWORTH: A seven-vehicle pileup caused a massive traffic snarl along the North-South Expressway during the Monday (Dec 13) evening rush hour.

       It is learnt the accident involved an express bus, two 4x4 vehicles, a van, a multi-purpose vehicle and two cars.

       The cause of the incident is still unknown.

       However, a video that is being circulated on social media shows an express bus heading from Seberang Jaya to Juru appearing to veer out of control and hit an MPV and other vehicles in front of it.

       No casualties have been reported at the time of writing.

       When contacted, state Traffic Enforcement Investigation Department head Supt Zafri Zolkapli confirmed the incident and said the matter is being investigated.
