PETALING JAYA: Workplace safety can be improved with the implementation of new technologies, especially in the construction industry, says occupational safety and health advocate Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
He said technologies such as predictive data, artificial intelligence (AI) and ergonomic devices could boost employees’ productivity aside from improving their safety and health.
“Injury prevention and wellness plans in all workplaces must be given priority, as much as preventive maintenance plans for machines and timely delivery of projects,” he said yesterday.
By introducing innovative technologies and new construction techniques, and aligned with digitalisation, he said risk at the workplace can be reduced and safe behaviour can be encouraged while increasing efficiency.
