PETALING JAYA: A nationwide campaign has been launched by the police and Petronas to remind road users to comply with traffic rules during the festive season.

The three-day “Program Jelajah Op Selamat” is being held at 47 Petronas petrol stations across the country.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Mat Kasim Karim said the programme that started yesterday will end on Sunday.

“Our mission is to educate road users to be more aware of road safety so that accidents can be minimised.

“Those involved in the programme will travel in convoy to selected petrol stations to interact with the public and stress the importance of obeying the law for their and their family’s safety,” he said during the launch at the Solaris Putra Petronas petrol station.

He added that Op Selamat 18 will be launched on April 26.

The event yesterday was attended by Petronas retail head Khalil Muri and group security head Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah.
