Calling it a “brazen” operation, a judge denied bail for two men accused of shooting two armored car staffers — killing one — and an hour later ‘executing’ two men who were their accomplices in the robbery and shooting of the armored truck guards on the South Side this week.
Deandre Jennings, 20 and Antwon Montgomery, 19, appeared Thursday afternoon before Cook County Judge Charles Beach, who denied bail for both calling it a “brazen” operation during a hearing that was broadcast live on YouTube.

Jennings and Montgomery were each charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. They are also charged with attempted armed robbery, armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful restraint, police said.
The attacks began Monday about 10:20 a.m. with the armed robbery of an armored car in the 200 block of West 83rd Street, and left 47-year-old Lashonda Hearts dead and her 46-year-old co-worker critically injured. Hearts and the co-worker were loading cash from an ATM when it happened.
About an hour later, they are suspected of fatally shooting two men: 21-year-old Naiqwon Harper and 27-year-old George Holmes in 8700 block of South Saginaw Avenue, who were their accomplices in the armored car attack, police and prosecutors said.
Harper, of the 400 block of West Normal Parkway and Holmes, of the 400 block of West 79th Place, died of multiple gunshot wounds and their deaths were ruled homicides, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Jennings, of the 9100 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, and Montgomery, of the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue, are due back in court on Dec. 6.
