MANY shop owners and traders in Ipoh’s Little India are confused by the latest announcement to allow businesses to operate, Makkal Osai reported.
Some shops reopened on Monday morning only to close shortly because of the confusion over vaccination requirements for shop owners, workers and shoppers.
Priyanka Saree Center owner, identified only as Mogan, said that as many shop owners had yet to be vaccinated, they decided against reopening as they did not want to flout the SOP.
As they had not been operating since May, they opted to wait a while longer for greater clarity, he said.
Another shop owner, identified as Nganam, who runs a prayer material shop in the same area, said they reopened as they complied with all the requirements and urged shoppers to do the same.
> The daily also reported that a woman, Suhanjana Gopinath, 28, who was keen on Thevaram and Thiruvasagam as a teen, became the first female odhuvar in Tamil Nadu.
Odhuvars in Hindu temples are tasked with chanting sacred hymns during temple ceremonies and poojas.
