Horrifying footage shows the trio plunged into the sea from a height of about 70ft after their parachutes became entangled.

In a separate clip, emergency services can later be seen tending to the gliders who were retrieved from the water and carried away by stretchers on Belcekiz Beach.

The three pilots involved, named as ?a?da? Türkmen, Kars and Murat Can Sak, were taken for treatment at a nearby hospital, according to Spuntnik News.

Two were said to have stabilised, while the third, thought to be Türkmen, remains in “serious” condition, the outlet adds.

And a separate incident on the same day, Turkish coast guards rescued an Ukrainian paraglider from the sea after she lost control and landed in water.

The woman, who was later identified as Maria Protsluk, was immediately spotted by coast guard units on duty and brought to safety, Turkish coast guard said in a written statement.

Reports suggest the 28-year-old had been “brought back from the dead” having swallowed her tongue.

She had been laying lifeless in the water after her flying equipment "failed," following a take-off from a runaway at an altitude of 5,500ft on Babada? mountain.

She was eventually rushed to hospital and is now said to be in a stable condition.

Some 2,000 paragliders and wingsuit athletes from 60 countries attend the International air games festival annually it is believed.

It is not yet known if an investigation has been opened by authorities into the latest incidents.
