GEORGE TOWN: Litterbugs strike again and this time, on the tallest elevated road in the country.

       The panorama offered by the Bukit Kukus paired road is so breathtaking that many motorists cannot resist stopping for pictures.

       They even stop to have a snack while soaking in the view of the valley and the sea beyond, and some of them are obviously litterbugs.

       This recently opened road is now peppered with food wrappings, spent fast food containers and plastic bags of half-eaten food, all dropped along the roadside and even left on the stone railings.

       Fortunately, social media users have been taking pictures and videos of litterbug evidence to highlight the bad habit.

       Two concerned citizens even made a TikTok video of themselves picking up the rubbish and berating people's lack of civic-mindedness.

       Another TikTok video of the new road shows that police patrolmen do not allow motorists to stop along this road for recreational purposes and will shoo them along.

       This 3.8km road that snakes along the Paya Terubong valley is elevated up to 61.5m above the ground on some stretches.
