KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 25,863,563 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been dispensed through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme as of Wednesday.

       Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, through an infographic on his Twitter, said 16,347,422 jabs were dispensed to first-dose recipients and 9,516,141 were second doses.

       “According to percentage, 50.1% of the country’s population has received the first dose, while 29.1% have completed both doses of the vaccination,” he said.

       This means that up to Wednesday, 69.8% of the adult population in the country has received the first dose of a vaccine, while 40.7% have completed both doses.

       A total of 497,352 doses of the vaccine were administered on Wednesday itself, with 227,506 of them as first doses and 269,846 as second doses. — Bernama
