Three killed in separate worksite accidents

       PETALING JAYA: Three foreign workers have died in two incidents in the Klang Valley.

       In the first case, a Bangladeshi excavator operator died at a building site yesterday after falling debris trapped him in the vehicle’s cabin.The incident in Damansara Perdana saw the 32-year-old Bangladashi hit by a falling wall.

       Firefighters managed to retrieve his body with the help of a crane.

       Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Hafisham Mohd Noor confirmed the incident, adding that firefighters arrived at the scene at noon.

       Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said a condominium project was underway and was 40% complete.

       Meanwhile, Bernama reported that two Indian nationals were killed after inhaling toxic gas in a manhole in Cyberjaya.

       Identified as Kesavan Matarasan, 30, and Sailu Makkala, 40, the duo were part of a seven-man team that had been working in the area near a new hospital in Cyberjaya.

       Firemen, who rushed to the scene at around 2pm, were unable to free the workers trapped in the manhole.Kesavan’s body was extricated at 4.30pm, and his co-worker 30 minutes later.
